kyōto matcha house — a place to slow down
the house you bring someone to. a room built for slowing down, where an afternoon can disappear over a single, unhurried table.
what makes it unique: hospitality first — the widest choice of any house: thick and thin preparations, a roasted-leaf list, and the cold-whisk born of the local heat.
what to expect: sit-down service at your own pace. order a tasting for two, stay for a second pour, and let the room do the rest.
opening hours: mon–fri 8:00–18:00 · sat–sun 8:00–19:00. open every day, and an hour longer on saturday and sunday — the afternoons worth staying for.
address: bakheng road · krong siem reap 17252. the house stands inside the water park grounds, beside the pools; there is no street frontage to look for, so trust the pin rather than the road. the studio counter is a short walk away.
menu: the widest list in the collection — thin and thick, a roasted-leaf page, coconut, and the cold whisk that belongs to this heat. the strength of each bowl is yours to set. order for two, and let the table go slowly.

matcha atēlier — quieter, harder to find
quieter, and harder to find. an open workshop where the season's experiments are poured by hand — a place you want to show someone.
what makes it unique: always changing. the menu follows the harvest, so no two visits are alike — matcha gelato, a roasted-leaf affogato, and tasting flights that rotate with the season.
what to expect: a guided, intimate tasting. sit at the bench, talk to the maker, and try things that exist nowhere else — often only for a few weeks.
opening hours: mon–fri 7:30–18:00 · sat–sun 7:30–18:30. open every day, from early. the bench closes with the light — half an hour later at the weekend.

menu: no fixed list. the bench follows the harvest — gelato, mochi, a tiramisu people cross town for, and flights that turn with the season. some editions last weeks, and are never made again.
